According to socalTECH.com, Dayak just raised a new round of funding in a series A-1 that was reported at just under a million dollars. The San Diego based online recruitment website has nearly 1000 employers and over 2,500 recruiters using the service. CEO, Alan Sabol, plans to use this round of financing to grow the website’s user base. Dayak raised a previous round at just over a million dollars last April backed by Tech Coast Angels.
Podclass, a San Diego based open-source learning management software system, announced that it has been awarded a grant through Facebook’s FbFund. The amount of funding was not disclosed. According to Facebook, “fbFund is a fund focused on continuing to create incentives for the development of applications on Facebook Platform. Initially, the fund will make available $10 million in capital which may grow over time.”
There were more than 1,000 applications submitted, but only 10 applicants were provided with grants. ”We are very excited to be one of ten companies to receive this grant,” Gary Gil, founder, Podclass says. “We are confident that our Podclass application will only serve to enhance the user experience.”
