This week, the Webby Awards announced its 2008 nominees to recognize the best of the Web in the categories of Websites, Interactive Advertising, Online Film & Video, and Mobile. The Webby’s have been hailed as “the Oscars of the Internet” by the New York Times and are presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences.
Each category will receive two honors - a Webby Award (as determined by the Academy’s members) and a People’s Voice Award. The People’s Voice Award is decided by popular vote, which means you can vote now through May 1 to help your favorite online companies and services receive major recognition. Check out the full list of nominees here.

Thanks for highlighting all the very qualified nominees in the 2008 Webby Awards! Our startup video network, TitanTV.com, was nominated after only 6 months of producing original videos. TitanGreens.com, our awesome environmental site was recognized in the category of “Public Service & Activism”. Of course as you know, the judges award 1 winner but the people award the other.
As a small company trying to make an impact, we appreciate any and all support to help us win the People’s Voice Award!
To vote:
1) Register on the 2008 Webby Awards site — http://pv.webbyawards.com/
2) Select TitanGreens.com from the Nominees drop-down menu at the top of the page
3) Cast a vote for Mother Earth!
Thanks and keep up the good work!

Thanks for pointing us in the right direction Audrey, the San Diego community should really make it a point to cast our votes for the People’s Voice Award.
@TitanGreens congrats on your nomination, but is this really the right forum to be tilling for votes? We’ll let you know if we ever want to give a shout out to TitanGreens, but until then try to keep the self-promotion to your own blog.
