Slacker, the San Diego based developer of a portable device that streams personalized internet radio stations, announced that they had inked deals with the four major publishing houses (EMI, Sony, Universal and Warner) before the release of their device earlier this year.

These agreements will give Slacker content rights to music that allows the transfer of songs from Slacker’s streaming service to its portable music players. It enables the devices to save songs for later playback without paying an extra fee, as is required by other music subscription services.

Now all they have to do is start selling their devices to the mass market. We’d be open to reviewing one if it showed up at our office.
